All About April

I don't know about you but I can't believe it's April already! Where has the time gone? It feels like yesterday I was tucking in to Christmas dinner yet Easter is just around the corner (yum!). It goes without saying that there will be chocolate on the cards this month, but let's have a look at what tasty fruit and veggies are in season to enjoy this April...



Rhubarb crumble anyone?


Artichoke, Beetroot, Cabbage, Carrots, Chicory, New Potatoes, Kale, Morel Mushrooms, Parsnips, Radishes, Rocket, Sorrel, Spinach, Spring Greens, Spring Onions, Watercress.

I'm loving that new potatoes are now in season! They are nutritious, delicious and super versatile. You can serve them cold in salads or add them to stews. You can have them boiled, steamed, mashed, roasted or perhaps you would prefer to make your own creamy potato salad. I'm under no illusion that is all you can do with new potatoes, but variety is important so let's have a look at what else April has to offer...

Personally, I can't get enough roasted veggies - beetroot and carrots are definitely among my favourites! Chopped in to large chunks, roasted in a drizzle of olive oil with salt and pepper, and sprinkled with feta cheese, they make a delicious side dish.

And to top it off, the humble spring onion is in season too! Sprinkle these on dishes to add flavour, texture and colour.
